Practical Questions
Languages
I offer counseling in four different languages: English, Italian, French, Lithuanian. I am learning Dutch to be able to provide counseling in Dutch in the future.
Cancellation policy
A 24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged at the full session fee. This policy allows me to offer the time slot to other clients seeking support. Thank you for your understanding.
Online counseling: How does it work?
I offer online consultations via a secure, encrypted video platform. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking.
Start by booking your free 30-min non-binding introductory consultation here to find out if we're a good match.
You'll receive a copy of the Counselling Agreement in your email before the Intro consultation.
We'll go over your questions, discuss your needs and expectations, sign the Counselling Agreement during the Intro consultation.
We'll take a thorough snapshot of your life in our first session.
Our sessions will be co-constructed. I'm not gonna "push" for a therapeutic agenda or tell you what I think you need, we each bring something to the table and work together (of course I can help you decide where to start).
Having a regular slot in my agenda is the ideal structure. If your circumstances don't allow for that kind of regularity, then at the end of each session, we’ll agree a date for your next session.
We'll regularly check-in if your needs and expectations are met, and adapt the consultations accordingly.
I’m here to support you until you don’t need my help anymore. After your last session I’ll send you an anonymous feedback and evaluation form. This is an important part for me as it helps me improve my services and allows me to grow as a practitioner.
You are always welcome to come back to revisit your issues or discuss anything new that has cropped up for you by booking an online consultation. Your last session doesn’t have to be the final time we work together!
Prices
This practice operates with a commitment to accessibility. Clients who contribute above the minimum fee (i.e., €60+) actively participate in a "pay it forward" model, helping to subsidize services for those who could otherwise not afford the minimum price. I perform a portion of my work through volunteer and community initiatives, which are made possible by these contributions.
Sliding Scale Guidelines:
The following guide is provided to help the Client choose an equitable fee for a standard 50-min session:
€60: You are on a tight budget or would find counseling otherwise inaccessible.
€70 – €80: This is the average price for counseling in Belgium, and you can afford this comfortably.
€90 – €120: You have the means to pay it forward. This higher fee helps subsidize the cost for those who cannot afford the minimum price, making therapy more accessible for everyone in the community.
Terugbetaling (only for Belgian residents)
As a psychologist registered with the Belgian Commission of Psychologists, my services are recognized by Belgian health insurance funds (e.g., Solidaris, CM, Helan). However, please be aware that there are two different types of reimbursement for psychological care in Belgium:
Reimbursement via Government-funded Mental Health Networks (RIZIV/INAMI): This system offers a lower co-payment but is only available to clients consulting a clinical psychologist who is part of a specific network agreement. My practice is not part of this network.
Reimbursement via Your Mutualité's Benefits: Reimbursement comes from your mutualité's statutory and supplementary benefits which are separate from the low co-payment system above. Each mutualité determines its own amount and limit (e.g., €10 to €20 back per session, limited to 8-12 sessions per year). This is the reimbursement model that applies to my practice. I will fill the necessary documents for you to submit to your mutualité.
I strongly recommend you contact your specific mutualité directly before our paid sessions begin to confirm your eligibility for reimbursement and the exact amount you can expect. This will ensure full clarity regarding the cost of your care.
Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR Compliance)
Protecting your privacy is a top priority for my practice. I am committed to upholding the highest standards of data protection in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union. All of your personal and sensitive information, including our session notes, is stored securely on encrypted platforms. Your data is processed only for the purpose of providing you with psychological services.
I will inform you about my data retention policy and your rights regarding your personal data in our Counselling Agreement. You have the right to access, rectify, or request the erasure of your data at any time, in accordance with legal and professional guidelines.
